Tribhuvan University (TU) may be a public university in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. Established in 1959, TU is that the oldest of the 5 universities in Nepal. registration in 2013-2014 was tenth largest within the world.
The university provides undergrad and graduate education. over four,400 courses ar offered, of that five hundred ar for intermediate-level courses (equivalent to higher secondary school), 2,079 ar for undergrad and a pair of,000 ar for postgraduate programs. The university has eighty five integral schools and over 600 related schools throughout the country. Since it's government supported, it's more cost-effective than non-public universities. Tribhuvan University was named after late Trivhuvan king. Established in 1959, i.e. 2016 B.S., it is the oldest and largest university in Nepal.
The university family remains committed and dedicated to creating it a supply and centre of quality education to line up a culture of learning within the country and to market the notion of national and international peace and harmony.
Since its beginning, the state in Hand University, has, swollen its programmes in several disciplines. There ar 5 technical institutes and 4 general schools. The university offers one hundred fifteen courses for the technical proficiency certificate level. TU offers 1079 courses at Bachelors level and one thousand courses at Master’s level. It offers pH.D. degree in several disciplines each at the Technical Institutes and schools
In the current session (2014-2015) altogether four,05,341 students are registered at numerous levels of TU educational Programmes. 1,48,141 (36.55%) students study in its sixty constituent campuses together with thirty eight central departments, while 2,57,200 (63.45%) students study in 1053 related  faculties. It clearly reveals that related  faculties do have a lot of students than the constituent campuses.[5][citation needed]
TU has 7841 teaching college and 7413 non-teaching workers together with the support workers in its constituent campuses. the amount of total workers is 15254.
